As an 'Independent' family business we can offer greater flexibility of choices without the constraints of Management edicts, dictating what we can and cannot offer. Our only concern is YOU our client NOT shareholders etc.
We were delighted recently, following due inspection and compliance visit to be accepted into membership of SAIF (Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors). This further demonstrates our ability to meet high standards of care and professional operating methods as accredited by an Independent assessor. We have the same care facilities as a modern hospital does for your loved ones and we are proud to serve our community. Through SAIF we can now offer our families a free bereavement counselling service (SAIF Care) should they wish to utilise this.

Planning Ahead -
Given ever increasing funeral costs it makes sense to plan ahead and many people are now realising the benefit of having a pre paid funeral plan. Not only does this offer peace of mind to you and family on a financial level but for those left dealing with a bereavement you can leave your personal instructions on the type of funeral you want. This can include Religious services, Hymns, Music etc and takes pressure and worry off your loved ones at the time of bereavement.
We offer Pre Paid Funeral Plans through 'Golden Charter' and will be happy to explain them to you further, either in our office, or at your home. If you have an existing pre paid plan it may be you want to nominate us as your preferred Funeral Directors for future. if you require any help please contact us. Our plans can be paid by instalments and are one of the most competitively priced plans on the market. Most people ask "where does the money go to?" All monies for funeral plans are normally held by a trust fund managed by companies separate to the Funeral Director and guarantee to pay the costs of your funeral to the chosen Funeral Director when the need arises.
Kevin, and Jayne, are both brass musicians and are often called upon to play Last Post for Military funerals or civic events. Both of us play in a local Brass Band, Simply Brass in Scarborough and Kevin plays Soprano Cornet for East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) Band. Kevin and Jayne are also members of St. Mary's Church Choir, Scarborough.

We can now offer clients a service with our partners at legacy life expressions to provide a unique keepsake or piece of jewellery containing the fingerprint of your loved one. If you wish to use the service we use a hand held scanner to digitally capture your loved ones fingerprint and this then is stored electronically and can be used at anytime to create a unique piece of jewellery , such as a necklace or ring or etched onto a glass ornament. Once a fingerprint is obtained any items can be ordered at anytime now or in the future and offers a unique means to remember your loved one.

We are members of SAIF (National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors) and Kevin is also a Member of BIFD (British Institute of Funeral Directors). Like most funeral directors do we ask for an 'Advanced Payment' to cover what we pay on your behalf before the funeral takes place. We are able to offer help and advice regards funding available to clients to help with funeral expenses and how to access them.
BEREAVEMENT AFTER CARE
As part of our ongoing care for you we offer 'SAIF Care' a free and confidential Bereavement Counselling Service for our families and we can offer help and advice from specialists in relation to Wills & Probate, Financial planning following a bereavement if required. If you need any information on any or all these services please inform us so we can assist with any help needed.

Our premises were designed by Kevin to provide excellent client facilities. These include two Private Chapels of Rest or Rest Rooms and a Private Arranging room off main reception. The colour scheme was chosen by Kevin to give a more modern feel for clients.

With our partners at Funeralzone we offer every family a Free online Obituary service and Funeral Planner. The Obituary will contain details of deceased and service times and location and links to Google maps for those travelling from afar. Once set up family and friends can decide its content but can put messages and photos on the site and light a candle in memory. The site is also ideal for setting up donations for charities and allows donations on line, including gift aid for those eligible, direct to your chosen charity and keeps a total of all donations.

We are now able to offer clients a FREE Obituary site which can be set up in memory of a loved one and can show date , time, location of funeral service. It can be personalised by families to include photographs etc and also allows for on line donations via 'Just Giving' section included within the Obituary.
The family, once it's set up, can take control and edit the site whenever and its free and lasts as long as you wish! You can light candles on the anniversary of a death or add memories or photographs and comments.
We can also provide a themed 'Book of Condolence' from Funeralzone based on the Obituary and what is included in that. Please ask for details or to see the book of Condolence.
If you or any family member want any information about funeral plans then feel free to call in and see us to discuss or ask information about the benefits and advantages of having a plan. Not only do you save, by paying the funeral cost at todays prices, it means your family or executors can be confident you get the funeral you desired be it Cremation or Burial and as simple or elaborate as you want.
We recommend and endorse 'Golden Charter' funeral plans which are probably one of the most cost effective plans available. .If you require a home visit to discuss plans we are happy to oblige with that too. Pick up a FREE PEN when making an enquiry either in person, or by post.
Some people may have a plan, for example with another provider, such as 'Golden Leaves', or another plan provider, taken out with another funeral Company but you are able to amend and nominate WHO YOU WANT to take care of your funeral Service when the time comes. If you want advice on this matter speak to us first for suitable advice.
We can offer ALL our clients this service if they feel it would be beneficial for them or any of the family. This is a free & confidential bereavement counselling service which we feel is important for families to have access to should they feel it will help them on their 'grief journey' and to understand the feelings and behaviours following bereavement. For clients struggling to meet funeral costs there is an option available through a company called 'Beyond' for clients to access funding on a loan basis to pay for funeral costs. Beyond cover the costs direct to the Funeral Director and the client can pay back, at 0% interest, over 12 months to 'Beyond'.
We are pleased to work with and be associated with them as we strive to reduce funeral poverty and assist the bereaved in a practical way when looking at funding a funeral.
Beyond can also help lower costs when dealing with the estate of the deceased. They charge an all in fee for dealing with the administration which could save considerable expense.
